Dark Cornish

Looking for the best of both worlds? Look no further! Dark Cornish are both beautiful and functional with their intricate, double-laced feathering and excellent meat conversion rate. Who says they can't be great layers too? Dark Cornish are also surprisingly great layers of light brown eggs, and have been known to brood their own eggs from time to time. Despite originating as meat birds Dark Cornish are capable of living full, healthy lives, unlike the commonly known Cornish Cross or Cornish X hybrids used exclusively for meat. Dark Cornish males are compact, deceptively heavy birds that average 10lb, with females averaging 8lbs.
